Caernarfon Castle is probably the most famous of all Welsh Castles. It was built by Edward I, starting in 1283. It was a military stronghold as well as a seat of government and royal palace.
Standing on the mouth of the Seiont river, Caernarfon Castle was the setting for the Investiture of Prince Charles as Prince of Wales.
